Chocolate!

I went to Berkeley recently and I ate tasty chocolates in Chocolatier Blue!

They have plenty of options of mini chocolates! It is super duper cute!

The chef, Chris Blue, decided to study in French Pastry School in Chicago. Moreover, he travelled the country in pursuit of perfectionism. Today he has many locations of this chocolaterie! There are two in Berkeley, right here!

You can order on this website!

I bet you will not eat just one! ; )

Turkish Restaurant!

Oh, I've been in a very nice turkish restaurant, A La Turca! I hadn't imagined I'd like so much!

I hadn't tried this kind of food before, so that was a unique experience.

The restaurant is on Geary St x Hyde St. They have many options of food and tasty desserts! I can't describe the taste, but I ensure, it's very good!

They have this website where you can see a little bit of their dishes.

Unfortunately I didn't take any picture of the plate... What was I doing?!

Anyway, if you have never tried this kind of food, do it! Into the restaurant you can listen to turkish musics and you can see a paint on the wall of the Istanbul! I liked feeling the ambience which made my experience much more interesting!

Go there!

Enjoy Veggie!

Enjoy Veggie is a very nice restaurant in SF! I've eaten there many times because the food is very tasty and they have lots of options of dishes! The ambience is so quite and it is always playing a pleasant music! I guarantee!

They are a vegetarian restaurant which respect the environment, I mean, they and all of the restaurants that are vegetarian just use plant-based diet, exclusion of meat. In the case of this restaurant, instead of meat and sea food they serve foods with natural soy protein. They don't use also oil nor do they use MSG. If you don't know, MSG is also known as monosodium glutamate or sodium glutamate which is the sodium salt that is one of the most abundant naturally occurring non-essential amino acids. It was classified as a food addictive which is not good for you health! They don't use onion and garlic.

So, I consider this combination of elements very nice! Don't you agree?!

The best Chinese Restaurant I have ever been! There are two places in SF, one at 839 Kearny St, right here in the map!! The other one is at 754 Kirkham St, here.

See them at http://enjoyveggie.com/index.html

Enjoy!

Languages and thoughts about it!

In the last weeks I have thought about languages! I started to think about it, because I am not in my hometown, I mean, I am surrounded of people who are from various parts of the world. I have heard people talking in their languages like I have spoken in my mother language, ok. Nothing is wrong. What I am trying to say is: Who created all languages?! Who said that like hand is hand, arm is arm and some things like that?! I speak my mother language because I grew up listening it, but who created all words and sounds?!

Thinking about these things, I had this idea to write this post! I hope you are interested as well!

I found out that there are about 10 thousand languages in the world now! These total, only 400 have written language! Less than 100 have high graphic and literary tradition, and of these, 12 are languages which more than 100 million people speak: Chinese, English, Hindi, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Bengali, Portuguese, Malay, Indonesian, Japanese, German and French.

Nobody knows for sure when the man started to speak, however it is assumed that the languages started to develop about 1,5 million years ago. Some studies show that the first hominy communicated using intentional sounds and it could have been the first step for verbalization!

Mesopotamia arose about more than 6 thousand years ago and it is considered the oldest writing system. Before the writing alphabet was pictographic, it means that people used to draw things they wanted to talk about. After years, this kind of writing changed for arbitrary, it means that one jar with one trace represented one measure and another jar with two traces meant another measure. The representation of words and ideas were possible and the ideographic writing was created!

About in 1500 b.C. in Mesopotamia priests and merchants selected 29 characters which were used by babylonians and for each one of them were defined a kind of sound.

Doesn't matter which language you speak, nor does it matter how many, language is our way to express our feelings with words.

"The man is a wight who created himself while created a language".

Independence Day!

Independence Day as known as the Fourth of July is a important holiday in the United States of America. This day celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence Day on July 4th in 1776 from the United Kingdom of Great Britain.

The first celebration of this day was in Philadelphia in 1777, with fireworks, traditional speeches, picnics, parades and like so on. However, the largest fireworks display was in New York City, with more than 22 tons of pyrotechnics exploded!!!

This day is celebrated with fireworks, picnics, parades and like so on. I think the way to celebrate this day didn't change so much. I discored that on this day people use red, blue and white clothes. I have never been in United States on this day, so I am not sure if it's true, however I believe so.

I know that is gonna happen a display of fireworks in SF at 9:30pm. I found out the best places to see the fireworks are in around the Pier 39, Aquatic Park, Cannery.

If you wanna celebrate this day around the bay or somewhere like that, here is a good link to find some trips! Hope it helps!

Happy 4th of July! ; )

Giants Match!

SIMPLY UNFORGETTABLE!

Yeah! Yesterday I first watched a baseball game and it was a unique experience, for sure! I think I still surprised because that was completely different about what I had imagined! I mean, everything! I observed that during the game, the people in general don't keep concentrated in the game. They watched the game, but during the game I didn't know you can do whatever you want. Some things, like this, attracted my attention because my the way to watch games in my culture is different! Ok, baseball is not a popular sport in Brazil, but when we watch soccer, everybody keeps concentrated in the game and my way to watch is different also.

It was unforgettable because I got to know about other kind of sport, other kind of culture... simply unforgettable! My first time inside a ballpark was amazing!

One of the best parts was the traditionally seventh-inning stretch! Oh, that was the best!!! It is a tradition between the halves of the seventh inning of the game. At that moment, everybody stood up and started to sing... so cool! I didn't know that a baseball game was so funny!

I'm sure I will never forget it!
