Boudin!

Boudin is a bakery very famous in SF! I ate a bread there and I realized some different thinks for others bakeries: sour flavor! I researched and I discovered that the Boudin dough is so special because they have a particular way to prepare the bread! They prepare the breads using mother dough. In a refrigerator, this dough is stored to allow the lactobacillus to ferment alive. Bakers remove a portion of the started each day to leaven the bread being made. They put a little bit more of flour and water in mother dough every day after take a portion out. This process is being made for more than 150 years with the same mother dough! I can't imagine it!

You just can eat the sour breads in San Francisco! You will not make, nor will you eat this kind of taste in another part of the world! This happen because lactobacillus sanfrancisco is specie of lactic acid bacteria that make the bread sour! This bacteria acts in yeast and it is just found in SF because here there is natural air-conditioning to this bacteria developed itself. Did you understand how much is it important??

Well, If you (already) think that the Boudin is so special and they are going to dominate the world, read next sentence. There are some classic soups served in bread bowl and the last picture is about one kind of this soups! I've never eaten this, but I think that it's very good.

I went to Boudin at 160, on Jefferson St and this location there are Bistro Boudin and Museum & Bakery Tour! There are another locations.

Coit Tower!

Coit Tower is 210-foot high, it means 64 meters! This tower is one of the city's most recognizable landmarks and it's in Pioneer Park!

The tower offers a beautiful view of Bay, Transamerica Pyramid, Bay Bridge, Alcatraz Island, and so on. It was built in 1933 on top of Telegraph Hill and this hill is 284-foot high, it means 87 meters. Telegraph Hill is one of the SF's 44 hills. See it on the map here !

On the ground of the tower there are some paints made from 26 different artists in 1930's.

The tower was built at the request of Lillie H. Coit. She was so important to the history of San Francisco because when she was eight years old, she was rescued from a hotel on fire! Since that she developed a relationship with firefighters. She accompanied the firefighters in emergency calls and when she died, was cremated wearing the gold badge of Company No. 5.

The tower is open from 10am to 6pm daily. Visit it!

April Fool's Day!

April Fool's Day is when the people say some lies to others! When this fun started, nobody knows, yet in whole world is commemorated. There is trace that this date arose when the date of New Year was changed. Originally, this was celebrated between March 25th to April 1st, then it was changed to January 1st. In that period there weren't cellphones, internet, social media and some people didn't known about that change and continued to celebrate the New Year on April 1st. These people were the object of sarcasm and the others people said them some lies.
In different countries this day is named and celebrated in different ways, for exemple, in England is noodle, in França is april fish, in United States is fool...

Do you know why in France who believe in lies is called fish?! The name "fish" was chose because in April many fishes are born and in this month is too easy get fishes; because of that who is deceived on April 1st is "easy to get".

The above video is to explain about April Fool's Day in a different way.
