Coit Tower!

Coit Tower is 210-foot high, it means 64 meters! This tower is one of the city's most recognizable landmarks and it's in Pioneer Park!

The tower offers a beautiful view of Bay, Transamerica Pyramid, Bay Bridge, Alcatraz Island, and so on. It was built in 1933 on top of Telegraph Hill and this hill is 284-foot high, it means 87 meters. Telegraph Hill is one of the SF's 44 hills. See it on the map here !

On the ground of the tower there are some paints made from 26 different artists in 1930's.

The tower was built at the request of Lillie H. Coit. She was so important to the history of San Francisco because when she was eight years old, she was rescued from a hotel on fire! Since that she developed a relationship with firefighters. She accompanied the firefighters in emergency calls and when she died, was cremated wearing the gold badge of Company No. 5.

The tower is open from 10am to 6pm daily. Visit it!
