Message in a Bottle!

There could not be better title to this book! The story is simply touching!

It tells a story about Theresa, that found a misterious message in a bottle. Her life changed by that message and she would never have imagined how it was just starting to change by then. After published the beautiful letter, she knew that other people had found other similar letters. She got curious and really touched by all of them, because of their sweeteness and how someone could be so kind to write like that. After some talking with her best friend, Deanna, Theresa made a decision that changed her life forever!

That is just a little summed up beginning of this facinated story! Be prepared to cry, because I bet you will!

This one, like some of the Sparks' books, was adapted to film. It was released in 1999 and it was the first film made from his books! I have never seen the movie, but I have heard it is a little bit different from he book. Have you seen the movie?! Are they so different?!

Noisy world!

Are we alone in the universe?! Isn't there any other alive?! We've tried hard to search for this answer, but I don't wanna talk about what we've found out. No, I'm gonna talk about the funny side of it! Have you thought about if one day creatures found us out?! Haha, have you thought?! What would they think about us?! Would they have two legs, two arms, followed by two feet and hands with five fingers each?! Yeah, I can't know. But, what would they think about the Earth?! This little planet with many kinds of different people, thoughts, beliefs, linguagens and like so on. 

Today when I was on the bus coming back home, with no sound of talking between a bunch of strangers, which made everyone look dumb. While there was no loud sound, there were a bunch of loud minds, looking at nowhere, with their deep and significant thoughts. Sometimes those faces got confused in those thoughts and some of them turned depressed and confused. Others, instead, showed a little bit of the thoughts by smilling suddenly. Doesn't matter what was going into each one's mind, anyone made no sound. To be honest, there was a sound of the cars, but I wasn't paying attention on that. I don't think anyone was. I was thinking so deep to hear those cars. I let my mind think of whatever it wanted to. I guess everyone was doing that, I mean, letting the mind think over and over about nothing. Like, circles while everyone's eyes were looking at the houses, and that became insignificant as fast as the bus moved along.

What would other creatures think about this crazy world, where on a silent bus with loud minds is noisier than hurried cars?! What would they think about a world where minds speak louder than cars?! That's our world! The world of emotions and feelings! That's where everyone has a story of live which influences their decisions, acts and preferences. That's where people get mad, shed tears, laugh... That's what we are and doesn't matter if we are on a bus, at home or somewhere else, we will always act emotionally! That's the world we are living in! That's the Earth!

7 billion own ways

On that day all you wanted was to get out of your routine. You just wanted to try and go to somewhere new. You just wanted to go to somewhere else that anyone would not judge, nor bother you. You wanted to listen to that old record you never heard. That was when an ice cream parlor lit your eyes up. You picked up some topics and as soon you were eating that delicious thing. You were sat on that chair by the window, when a rain started to drop. While you were looking out the window, staring at those hurried and worried people, you saw their reactions at that unexpected rain. I observed you at the corner of my eyes, and I saw you laughing discreetly. I did so, too. Each one of those full minds reacted on an own, unique and personal ways. That's how the society is! We could be at the same situation, and when something turns up, each one has a different reaction. It's good, because it proves we are not the same and we all have our own personalities. You are totally different from me, from that woman outside, from the owner of the place... How can 7 billion people be unique by their own ways?!
That was when you caught youself, which was flying far, far away on thoughts. It was wondering about life, while you tasted that sweets and tasty blueberries! Oh, how tasty they were! Wandering your mind just a bit more, you realized that whole thing. You got you did want to change by doing something new, because all things around you were changing. That's why you felt a need to do something totally new. It worked on you by going to somewhere new, but for another one it'd have been by travelling, making new friends and like so on. Like talked earlier, your reaction by been changed was to taste something new, but other people would have their own ways, similar or not of yours.
While you were listening to rain sound and tasting that marvellous thing, your head was flying far, far away. While you moved your hand to put that on your month, you were finishing that off. You were finishing off some fruits that had been grown and gathered somewhere by someone, and had ended up on that place to be sold, to be eaten by someone. That little thing, had changed before until it picked that up earlier. All those delicious and tasty blueberries had changed, they had to be gathered right in time to be ready to eat. Otherwise, they would rot and end up not rotten. That's what you got. People change and that make us grow up. It's part of life. All thing and people around us are always changing right now. Yes, 7 billion people changing on their own different ways! And yes, it is crazy... but that's the way it is!

Wednesday

On this sunny and windy wednesday, I woke up interrupting some dream which I remember nothing about. The only thing I was sure about is that I had to listen Taylor Swift's new records. I checked my favourite websites, and was noticed that the videoclip of Begin Again had released earlier.
Some time after, I caught myself on the bus, going to somewhere quite where I could fly in my mind without even move myself. Then, I ended up at the library, and I confess that if I hadn't gone there, I'd feel like not doing what I should. Anyway, I had a sit next some big windowns, and after I took some sips of coffee, I caught myself flying far, far away from the library... I was so deeply involved in the story of the book.

I realized I had flown away, because for some time I can't say how long, I totally forgot where I was, what time it was, what day it is. I got I had been distracted because I had forgotten for a while the music that was in my head.

I like this kind of thing, when you totally go out of the where you are, and just for a moment you fall deeply in your thoughts. That's the magic of reading a book, I mean, you can imagine the scenes, you can fly to places without even move yourself. And one more thing, the music that I mentioned that was in my head was Begin Again, by Taylor Swift!

Elegant one!

What is to be elegant nowadays?! You might be thinking to wear fashion clothes, inspired on your superstar or idol you love. Our society thinks to be elegant is to wear colors of the next season, with trends and new shapes. That's not totally wrong, but let's imagine a shy girl wearing a short and tight dress that is trend. I don't think she'd feel comfortable enough, however, she'd think she'd be doing the right thing because that's trend. Well, this would be a big mistake, because she is shy and her personality is more like a medium dress, pastel colored, and wearing other thing just to be fashion would go against herself. She could be fashion, but neither she nor anyone can forget what they really are and like. That girl can be fashion and elegant, but she can never forget her happiness. If she is happy wearing whatever she wants, she will look very elegant! She might not be so fashion, but why does it matter so much when she likes her outfit?! 

To be elegant is much more than spend hours buying, reading what is trend. To be elegant is to feel happy and confident with your outfit, with what you want to wear, with what you personality is like! When you wear what you like, you are much more confident, beautiful and elegant than someone who is wearing something against them personality, just to be fashion!

To be elegant is also to forget what you're wearing because you're so busy being comfortable that you forgot to remember how your clothes look. 
Your light when you wear what you like is much brighter than your super fashion clothes. You have to believe that being natural and yourself is more likely to be elegant than copying other's acts, and clothes, and being what you are not.

Stars!

In an airplane, looking at the stars and going to somewhere, I caught my head thinking as fast as the plane. That little young girl was sat on the closest seat of the window. I was staring at that black and huge cloth with stars, as trying to figure things out and find answers. Staring at the stars as if waiting them to say about the future. Are things supposed to happen?! I mean, are we those who change our path, or is there something bigger that defines this?! 

I just know about one thing, anyone can't know about the future, anyone can't know about what will happen! However, what everyone does in the present, might have a big influence in the future. That's what the little girl's got of staring at the stars.

Bad because it was good!

On a hot day, chewing gun, sat down on carpet and listening to Red by Taylor Swift is how I'm gonna write this post. 

You might have known that Taylor Swift has released new songs of her newest album, Red! One of those musics is called Red, the name of the album, and this song says: 

"Oh, losing him was blue like I’d never known

Missing him was dark grey, all alone
Forgetting him was like trying to know somebody you never met

Yeah, yeah, red

I am a big fan of Taylor Swift and I've watched many interviews and listened to this music over and over again! I like to listen to any music reading its letter. As usual, I did that and I realized she is totally right! I mean, she says that losing him was blue, missing him was dark, 'cause loving him was red. Haven't you got?! What she tried to say is that missing him was really bad because loving was once really amazing. She is right, because you can't miss something that was never amazing. I have seen interviews where she says that even if it ends badly, it's worth it, because it taught you something! 

This new album is gonna be released on October 22nd! Are you counting the days left?!

Communication!

I have experienced the most amazing moments of my life, so far. Last march I took the plane to SF, to study english over there. That was very new, because I'd never left my country to study abroad.
On my very first day, I remember getting into the classroom. I was kind of trying to find the class I was supposed to get in, and when I finally found it, I had a sit. I remember me asking people where they came from and things like that. On that day I got I was the only brazilian in the class, and If I wanted to talk, it should be essencially in english! 
So, months went by and the most I observed people talking, the most I was getting the way they speak... English! And when I less expected, I was talking to them in english, too! That was when the trip started to be worth it!
In my classroom and all over the school, everyone could see people from the most different countries! Consequentely, over the breaks people from the same country talked in their language, which was not a big deal. The funniest thing was that when I saw people talking, most times I had no idea of what could possibly be going on! I just knew one thing, if they wanted to talk to the whole school, they should speak in english to everyone understand. And that was exactly the logical of studying english! The big importance of it!
I remember over the break, people talking and laughing between them. And the rest looking like staring and trying to imagine what was that all about. That was when I realized that just knowing my language, Portuguese, was just so little. I had to know english, because I wanted all of them to understand what I'd got to say. The same way they talked in english, to everyone get the chance to understand. What to understand?! Words, thoughts, jokes, news... To communicate with each other! 
Ok, listening to people talking in some language I had no idea of what, wasn't that fun! However, it was great to know how our first linguagens can be so different, but we can have communication! We all just had to know only one common language. English!

Train!

Train is a pop rock band from San Francisco! The band consists of Pat Monahan(vocals), Jimmy Stafford(guitar) and Scott Underwood(drums). 
Monaham was born in Pennsylvania, where he began his musical career singing with cover band. After the dissolution of that band, he moved to California, where he met Rob Hotchkiss. After playing in LA scene club, Rob added Stafford and Underwood and they formed Train in 1994!
They achieved success in 1998 with the hit "Meet Virginia"! In 2002 they won two Grammy Awards for the album "Drops of Jupiter" and the single Tell Me.
In 2003, they released the album My Private Notion which was positive receptes from the criticts, however it was commercially unsuccessful. After the band had taken three-year hiatus (2006-2009), the album "Save Me, San Francisco" has been certificated Gold by RIAA and ARIA. "Hey, Soul Sister", "If it's love" and "Marry Me" reached high possitions on Billboard Hot 100!
The newest album is California 37, released on April 13! "Drive By" has been well succeeded worldwide and was  chosen as the lead single of this album. The hit reached 10 on Billboard Hot 100! The album has also "This'll be my year", "Feels Good At First", "California 37" and others.

Superheros!

I guess that we think superheros are wise, brave, smart and like so on. Why people with different ages like superheros so much?! Probably because everybody needs to follow the actions of someone important or someone who achieved something important; and everybody needs to feel confident to do everything.
Looking at that angle, superheros save who is in danger and beyond it, give us courage and make us believe we can also do that! This combination couldn't be better, could be?!
Otherwise, want to be like a hero is a little bit crazy! We, humans, can't be perfects and I'm not talking about having superpowers; because there isn't superpowers in a real world. We have to follow someone important but it can't be everything.
If you pay attention, you are a super hero! We live in a real world with defects, problems, challenges and like so on. The fact is: you don't need be perfect to be confident. You are a hero within you can do. Who hasn't defects??
We can't 'survive' without inspire ourself in anything. Superheros are so important for our self-assurance! In my opinion this part is the most important of the heros. Have you already stopped to think about it?!

Hi!! 

I haven't been writing, nor have I been posting on this blog for a while. That's because several things... And one of them is that I am not in SF right now, but I am gonna get back there soon. I have been writing more on my other blog, www.englishnotesbyclara.blogspot.com , where I write about idioms and phrasal verbs! Have you checked that one?!

I have missed informal writing, I mean, writing about what I've got to know, sharing my photos and things like that. And because of that, I decided to change a little bit the style of this blog! Starting from now I am gonna just write about experiences, thoughts, share pictures, talk about events... For example, I have read my first book in english and I just can't wait to write about that, but where would I write about it?! So, starting from now, here is where I am gonna do that!
